1. What is Let The Light In?
Let the Light In is a community event in commemoration of National Suicide Prevention Month. This event is centered around an evening 5K, but will include all sorts of fun for all ages.
2. When and where is Let The Light In?
Let The Light In is on September 21st. The event will start at 6:00. It is going to take place on the grounds of our counseling center.

3. How is LTLI commemorating National Suicide Prevention Month?
This events purpose is to raise awareness and funds to prevent suicide in our tri-county area. At this event we will remember those lost with “We Remember” signs posted around the event. We will dare to talk about suicide, find ways to work together to make a difference in our community, and share resources.
4. What are the details of the 5K?
The 5K will start at 7:00, registration starts at 6:15. Our 5K course is a cross-country style course with rows of pines, huge oak trees, and the nature that makes up the central-Florida that we love. Our first 10 finishers will receive a medal and the award ceremony will take place on stage at 8:30. If you don’t want to do a whole 5K, register for our 1-Mile Fun-Run. It starts at 7:15, is on the same course, and just as fun! All participants will receive an event t-shirt.
5. What else is happening at this event?
Starting at 6:30, musicians from our local tri-county area will perform! There will be bounce houses and a huge slide for the kiddos. You can compete in a number of different yard game tournaments, such as cornhole and volleyball! You can take a behind-the-scenes tour of our counseling center. And more!
6. What’s the plan for dinner?
There will be plenty of food for purchase. Including: BBQ, popcorn, drinks, sno-cones, and desserts! We will make sure you are well fed and have all the snacks you need.
7. What should I bring with me to the event?
First, definitely grab your lawn chairs and picnic blankets. We would love it if you'd come and hang out with us for the evening! Second, light up the dark! Bring your glow sticks, headlamps, and flashlights. Get creative! Third, you can bring cash but we will also be taking cards and Venmo!
8. Can I get a t-shirt if I don’t participate in the 5K?
Of course! You can preorder one online right now, or wait until the day of the event. (PSA: Sizes and shirts are limited)
9. Are there bathrooms? What about AC?
Yes there will be indoor bathrooms and there will be seating and tables in the AC. We’re Floridians, we get it.
10. Does this event have parking?
Yep this event has plenty of parking. And don’t worry, it’s free!
