About Genny
Genny earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of South Florida and a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama. She is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Pastoral Counselor with the National Christian Counseling Association.
Genny was raised in Chiefland and returned to the Tri-county area in 2005 after graduating from the University of South Florida and living in Tampa for a few years. She began her 20+ year career in Education after returning home and worked in the Levy County School system for approximately 15 years. She currently works for Florida Virtual School as an Enrollment Manager and is raising 2 teens.
After working as a School Counselor for 3 years and obtaining permanent guardianship of her two children, she realized that she was being called to change her educational path from School Counseling to Mental Health Counseling. She switched her major and whilst finishing her Masters program, she felt called to Christian Counseling. This is where her path crossed with a long time friend, Mariam. That path led her to New Ways.
“New Ways is a blessing for me. I truly believe God has called me to counseling and I can use my counseling degree to help the lost and hurting in this world while loving them like Jesus.”
