About Heather
Heather grew up in Trenton, Florida and graduated from Trenton High School in 2004. After graduating, she joined the United States Army, where became a Military Police Officer. While in the Army, Heather served in many different leadership positions and in several countries, including Germany, Afghanistan and Iraq. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies and a Master's Degree in Human Services with a Cognate in Crisis and Trauma Response, both from Liberty University. She is currently back in school earning her Doctorate in Counseling. As if that's not enough, she plans to earn yet another graduate degree in Expository Preaching and Teaching at Liberty University. Heather recently completed training in Temperament Therapy and is now a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and Certified Temperament Counselor here at New Ways.

Heather has a foundation in Temperament Therapy, 12-Step programs, Spiritual Warfare and helping people find their identity in Christ. Heather believes in guiding her clients through deliverance from the bondage of sin through confession, repentance and seeing who they are in Christ. She loves people and has a heart to serve others, helping them through their deepest, darkest moments of pain.

Heather's own lived experiences have led her to specialize in addiction and healing the wounds of abuse -- sexual, emotional, domestic, spiritual, or religious -- whether those wounds began in childhood or adulthood. She is passionate about helping clients untangle dysfunctional family patterns and guiding clients past the shame, neglect and trauma that can block healthy growth.

When Heather's not at New Ways, she volunteers her time with the Jesus Infusion through Destiny Community Church at the Florida Women's Reception Center (FWRC) Women's Prison Ministry, which is very close to her heart and a safe space for her. Heather desperately loves the Lord and her family. Each week, she and her family make sure to spend intentional time together doing something they love. Along with her many local family members, Heather has a beautiful, 8-year-old daughter named Gianna Rose and a Great Dane named Cinnamon.
